Standoff In Colorado After FBI Agent Shot While Serving Warrant

FOX31 Denver’s Deborah Takahara was able to confirm through a source that it was an FBI agent who was shot at the Essex House Motel while executive a fugitive warrant. As of 5:15 p.m., there was a multiple-agency police presence surrounding the Essex House Motel at 5390 S Santa Fe Dr., which is just off South Santa Fe Drive between West Bowles and West Belleview avenues. An eyewitness, who identified himself as Craig, called into FOX31 Denver’s ongoing 5 PM broadcast with a report. “I noticed there was a SWAT team at the Essex House screaming at a shut door,” Craig said. “After a time, I heard them yell, ‘Shots fired!’ And I looked over to see one individual in plain clothes limping away from the door. ISIS Claims Responsibility for Garland Attack
ISIS claimed responsibility Tuesday for the attack at a Texas event featuring caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad — but did not provide evidence to support its claim. Charlie Winter, an NBC News counter-terrorism consultant, confirmed that ISIS said in an official radio broadcast Tuesday that two of its "soldiers" had carried out the attack in Garland, Texas. Winter — who is also a researcher at the London-based Quilliam Foundation think tank — said the broadbast also warned that "worse" things are coming for America. Roommates Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi were shot dead on Sunday after allegedly opening fire with assault rifles outside the inaugural Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest in the Dallas suburb of Garland.
