Come one, come all, to the terrifying world of dark magic and hamburgers: McDonaldland. As McDonald's turns 75 on May 15, we felt it fitting to look back on one of the oddest, creepiest and, frankly, most illegal periods of the fast-food franchise's storied history. Beginning in the early 1970s, McDonald's rolled out an advertising campaign based around McDonaldland, a magical town filled with anthropomorphic hamburgers and early, quasi-horror movie versions of many of the mascots you know today. Ronald McDonald was there, looking more "Pennywise" than "friendly burger clown." The now-huggable Grimace was an evil purple beast with four arms, which he'd use to consume as many McDonald's shakes as possible. http://on.mash.to/1FcRgee http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by Wochit using http://wochit.com
