One of the dead is "El Pantera."2nd in command of a cartel group operating in Nuevo Progreso area At least six people were killed in Nuevo Progreso Tuesday night. Four others died in area surrounding the city. It happened during a shootout on the Mexican side. The International Port links Progreso to Nuevo Progreso in Mexico. Many people CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to in the area, didn't know about the violent night just across this border. Two firefights left 10 people dead. Mexican media, El Universal reports the first shootout started as a chase in Rio Bravo. The shootout was between two crime groups. The gunfire began in the outskirts of Rio Bravo and spread to Nuevo Progreso. That's when the crime groups met federal forces. The gunfight grew, lasting for three hours. Six people died in the Nuevo Progreso fight. One of those dead is "El Pantera." He is considered second in command of a cartel group operating in the area. The danger spread along roads from Reynosa to Matamoros. Several cars were burned during the battle. http://bit.ly/1zamwHb...
