The US Federal Reserve holds 45 percent of Germany's gold assets, and a plan to bring much of that back to its homeland is in jeopardy. Efforts to transport or even audit the billions of dollars worth of precious metal held by the US are being impeded by politics and the Fed itself, creating frustration for many of the plans supporters.
