Flagstaff police get $40K for DUI enforcementLawyers in the 21st Century
The Flagstaff Police Department has received a $40,000 DUI enforcement grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
The grant will help FPD staff DUI task forces on days when DUI activity is highest in Flagstaff, such as holidays, NAU back-to-school weeks, homecoming, prom and graduation weekends.
The grant will also help FPD pay for community education programs to inform Flagstaff residents about DUI laws and the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The Police Department is already planning to hold community events, media events and talks in classes at local schools.
In a media release, FPD said the objective is to significantly reduce impaired driving in the Flagstaff community by emphasizing traffic-related enforcement and education.
