Intense Magnitude 5.6 Strikes Japan 9/15/14 Fukushima Nuke Plant Shaken







M-5.6 Quake hits Kanto region Japan Sep. 16, 2014 - Updated 00:03 UTC-4 An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 shook the Kanto region, including Tokyo, at about 0:30 PM on Tuesday. Authorities are checking for injuries and damage. The Meteorological Agency says the focus of the quake was in Ibaraki Prefecture, north of the capital. In some parts of Ibaraki, Gunma and Saitama Prefectures an intensity of 5 minus was registered. Earthquake intensity ranges from 0 to 7 at maximum on the Japanese scale. The Agency says there is no risk of tsunami from the quake. Railway companies say some bullet trains were halted briefly.
