There’s a new CBS poll in the New York Times showing how Americans feel about Barack Obama on foreign policy. And it’s not good. The new poll puts Obama at a RECORD low for how he’s handling problems in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Ukraine and Russia. But after 6 years in office, how is Obama doing here in the US? To find out, we took a look at his home state of Illinois. The Land of Lincoln is embroiled under a deep load of debt. Since the recession, fewer new jobs have been created than under ANY state in the US. In fact, there are actually THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND fewer people working in ILLINOIS today, than there were in January of 2008. About two years into the recession, some jobs DID start coming back to Illinois, but not nearly enough. Twice as many people have signed up for food stamps in the last four years than got new jobs. In a state that embraces Obama’s Democratic views, they’re dead last in the nation for private sector job creation. In Chicago, more than ONE MILLION people are dependent on food stamps. That’s more than one out of every five people. The rest of the state is hurting too. Now, there’s a race for Governor in a state where Democrats have dominated for over a decade. Incumbent Pat Quinn is limping to the election, carrying a state drowning in debt, while Republican candidate Bruce Rauner promises to bring new jobs to Springfield. You don’t need to look any further than his home state to see what Obama’s government-dependent policies produce years down the road. Support Indymedia!
