Wounded combat veteran, Derek Weida, has partnered with Anytime Fitness to create a new series of veteran-operated, veteran focused gyms. Watch Derek’s story to see how staying active and engaged with his fellow veterans helped him through the dark days of his recovery and how he will use his experiences to be of service to his comrades. To further expand upon his vision to be a positive influence in the veteran community, Derek has also founded a nonprofit called The Next Objective. The Objective? Engage. Encourage. Empower. TNO will award grants to pay for gym memberships, individual/group training, and sponsoring individuals and teams to participate in events such as mud runs, urban endurance challenges, and backpacking retreats. Derek is kicking off The Next Objective by organizing a team of 25 veterans to participate in a custom GORUCK Challenge and is currently fundraising to sponsor the event.
