Baghdad Terror: Wave Of Car Bombings Kills 43

At least 43 people were killed and 91 injured in suicide car bomb attacks Saturday at two separate locations in northern Baghdad, police officials told NBC News. Most of the deaths occurred at the Shaoula entry checkpoint in northern Baghdad, police said. The other bomb detonated at a gate entry in Kadhimyah in northern Baghdad. According to Reuters, three of those killed in Kadhimyah were police officers. This wave of suicide bombings comes as the Baghdad government continued Saturday to defend the capital against jihadists who four months ago seized major cities in northern Iraq. ISIS fighters regularly target Shiite districts in Baghdad and are penetrating surrounding farmland where Iraqi security forces and Shiite militias are trying to push them back. http://nbcnews.to/1szlH9u http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ
