US, Canada impose sanctions on Crimea

Obama signed an executive order banning new U-S investments in Crimea. Obama says the measure was taken to address the Russian QUOTE-- occupation of the Crimea region. Canada has also imposed sanctions on Crimea, saying it will not accept what it described as the Russian occupation of the region. Crimea rejoined Russia after a referendum in March. In the plebiscite, 95-point-five percent voted yes to reunifying with the Russian Federation.
