US president to sign Russia sanctions bill into law

White House spokesman Josh Earnest says US President Barack Obama will be signing the bill into law. If endorsed, more sanctions will be imposed on Russia’s state-owned arms dealer Roso-boro-nex-port and other defense companies. It also gives Obama the authority to provide lethal and nonlethal military assistance to Ukraine. The decision to sign the bill comes as Obama had previously called unilateral sanctions against Russia a mistake. He insisted that further sanctions should be coordinated with Washington’s European allies.
