Twitter, Facebook refuse to take down anti-Islam postings
Popular social media websites Twitter and Facebook refuse to take down hundreds of Islamophobic postings despite being alerted to the content by anti-racism groups. An investigation by British daily The Independent shows the number of postings against Muslims has increased significantly in recent months, in the aftermath of the murder of British hostages held by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Syria and Iraq. Some accuse Muslims of being rapists, pedophiles and comparable to cancer, while the most extreme messages call for the execution of British Muslims. Over the past four months, Muslim groups have compiled details of online abuse and reported it to Twitter and Facebook. But most of the reported accounts are still easily accessible.
