Alaska Becomes 1st Red State to Legalize Recreational Pot

Alaska has become the first majority-Republican state to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, joining ranks with Colorado and Washington. The state has not yet set up laws surrounding the drug’s sale, but the ballot initiative requires rules to be enacted by November 24.
