During their offensive on Tikrit the Iraqi Army was attacked by several SVBIEDs and IEDs during intense clashes with daesh militants. Tikrit is located just a few hundred miles north of Baghdad, and has been in daesh control for the past few months. So far the Iraqi military has made significant progress in the region.
