PayPal and eBay Still Entwined in a Web of Absurdist Corporate Jargon

PayPal and eBay are about to separate into two separate companies, and in their conscious uncoupling, a person close to the split told Mashable, they have the noblest of goals: "to preserve synergies and minimize dis-synergies, while providing greater strategic flexibility for both companies to pursue new markets and partnerships." Nothing is worse than a "dis-synergy." EBay bought PayPal for $1.5 billion in 2002, a move that helped boost the online marketplace and provide a steady stream of customers for the payments company. The two companies recently filed updates to their regulatory paperwork concerning the split. Now, we have a better idea of their new relationship thanks to that sweet, sweet corporate jargon. The agreement, fleshed out in an a thrilling SEC filing, will see the two companies still working together closely along with promises not to step on each others' toes. http://on.mash.to/1EjLA37 http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ
