http://bit.ly/1C0yxPz The project: Fiji suffers from storms and cyclones every year, like the recent devastating cyclone Pam that affected the entire pacific region, and every year thousands of US Dollars are invested into rebuilding public and private buildings. The Earthship Hut is a stormproof and low-cost structure that collects rainwater, therefore a perfectly suited building for Fiji. The Fijian government has expressed interested to fund a larger project if we can demonstrate that we can build stormproof constructions and transfer this knowledge to the local population, and has even considered making this part of the official University of Fiji program, hence why we will invite locals to this workshop as well as the Fijian government. The tropical Earthship Hut was built earlier this year in the Philippines and proved to be a success, it is low-cost, does not use concrete, and covers basic needs like stormproof shelter and water collection. By joining this project, you will not only learn valuable concepts to take home with you and apply to your daily routine, but you will also be part of the starting point of a large humanitarian project that can change the life of Fiji's inhabitants forever.
