President Trump gave what some consider his strongest remarks on Greenland and Denmark recently, saying “Whether they like it or not, the nice way or the difficult way” and mentioning that the US would need the territory so Russia and China would not take it. Greenland is controlled by Denmark, and is a NATO ally of the United States. Trump has been discussing military options and other ways to gain control of the world's largest island.
