The entire country will be blistered by freezing temperatures Tuesday, with millions of Americans facing another bitter blast of unseasonably cold air. What’s more, towns along Lake Erie are expected to be thumped by thick snow, with as much as six feet of the white stuff possible south of Buffalo, New York, according to NBC News meteorologist Bill Karins. By 9 a.m, Buffalo and Erie, Pennsylvania, were already buried under about two feet of snow. A state of emergency was declared in the Buffalo suburbs of Orchard Park and West Seneca, which had already seen 47 inches of snowfall by 10 a.m. ET, Karins said. An arctic blast has socked the nation for days, causing at least 17 deaths since Saturday.
