Putin: Kiev launching large-scale operation against pro-Russians

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Kiev of launching a large-scale operation against pro-Russian forces in eastern Ukraine. Putin also accused Ukrainian authorities of ignoring recent efforts by Moscow to bring peace between the government and pro-Russians fighting in the east. Kiev has denied using combat aviation in recent months. It accused Moscow of bringing more troops to help pro-Russian militia in a major land-grab. Russia has rejected the claim. Meanwhile, pro-Russian forces in Donetsk say they will continue to fight for more territory and will not join further peace talks. This comes a day after trolleybus shelling killed eight civilians in Donetsk, with pro-Russians and Kiev troops blaming each other for the incident.
