Iran has criticized the UN Security Council for failing to take action against Israel over its recent deadly airstrike in Syria’s Golan Heights. Iran’s ambassador to UN also said the fact that Israel’s impunity does not serve peace and security in the world and will lead to the deaths of more innocent people. The Israeli airstrike in the Golan Heights on January 18 claimed the lives of six Hezbollah members and one Iranian general. Israel has carried out numerous airstrikes in Syria over the past couple of years. The U-N has failed to take any action over the air attacks, which have been condemned by Damascus as violation of its sovereignty.
