President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia has received a personal invitation from US President Donald Trump to join a new international initiative known as the “Board of Peace.” Putin said Russia supports efforts to strengthen international stability and acknowledged the role of the current US administration in seeking a settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. He explained that the Russian Foreign Ministry has been instructed to study the proposal in consultation with strategic partners, with particular focus on the Middle East, the Palestinian issue, and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Putin emphasized that any peace process must lead to a long-term Palestinian-Israeli settlement based on UN decisions and take into account the needs of the Palestinian people, including Gaza’s reconstruction. He also suggested that frozen Russian assets could be used for humanitarian and post-conflict reconstruction purposes and commented that developments around Greenland do not concern Russia.
