Air France announced Wednesday it would temporarily halt flights to Freetown, Sierra Leone, because of the Ebola outbreak, at the request of the French government. France is recommending that its citizens leave Sierra Leone and Liberia, two of the countries hardest hit by the worst ever outbreak of the disease. The government said that the increasing spread of the disease prompted its request that the airline to suspend flights. MD. Judge Uses ElectroShock in Court

Maryland judge Robert Nalley ordered an officer in his courtroom to electroshock a defendant who was standing trial. Delvon King was defending himself against gun charges on July 23rd. Witnesses say the 25-year-old had made no threatening actions before he was shocked. Parents of the defendant were in court watching the proceedings, and reported on the events to the press. King, an African-American, was citing previous court precedent when Nalley ordered him to stop. The defendant stated “principles of common right and common reason are null and void,” just before he received the massive blast of electricity. The shock was delivered from an electrode strapped to his right leg. King said, “I got shocked, and I was screaming for help. They had no reason to harm me like that. I really didn’t expect for any of that to happen.” Judges may only attach electrodes to defendants under circumstances where there may present a danger to a court. These provisions are similar to those regulating ha...

Deadline Passed, No Sign Of Breakthrough In Iran Nuclear Probe

Diplomatic sources said on Wednesday Iran may have failed to meet a deadline for addressing U.N. concerns about suspected nuclear bomb research, but it could still act to influence a key report due next week. The sources, who follow the nuclear issue but declined to be identified, said they had seen no indications so far that Tehran had replied in substance to questions from the International Atomic Energy Agency by the agreed Aug. 25 date. They suggested, however, that there was still time for Iran to provide information in the coming days in order to avoid any negative impression in the IAEA's closely-watched quarterly report on Tehran's nuclear program. http://yhoo.it/1nFrAvL http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Immigration Could Set Stage For Big U.S. Budget Showdown

Conservatives in the U.S. Congress who object to President Barack Obama's immigration policies are threatening to tie a must-pass budget bill to the issue, making for a possible showdown in September and raising the specter of a government shutdown. When lawmakers return from their summer recess on Sept. 8, they hope to sprint to another long break beginning around Sept. 19. That gives them little time to agree on temporarily funding federal agencies on Oct. 1, the start of a new fiscal year. http://yhoo.it/1vo66eU http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

UN Moves To Slap Sanctions On Libya Militias

The UN Security Council on Wednesday moved to impose sanctions on militias and their political supporters who are fueling Libya's escalating war. Libya has been sliding deeper into chaos over the past weeks, with factions now backing rival prime ministers and assemblies, while Egypt and the United Arab Emirates carried out airstrikes against Islamists. Islamist fighters seized the Tripoli airport at the weekend, compounding the crisis in Libya that has been boiling since the fall of long-time dictator Moamer Kadhafi in 2011. UN mission chief in Libya Tarek Mitri told the council that the clashes in recent days "have been unprecedented in their gravity and to be sure, very alarming." http://yhoo.it/1vo65rl http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Photos Show Gruesome Islamic State Seizure Of Base

The mother of a hostage American journalist pleaded for his release Wednesday in a video directed at the Islamic State group, while new images emerged of mass killings, including masked militants shooting kneeling men after the capture of a strategic air base in Syria. In Geneva, meanwhile, a U.N. commission accused the Islamic State group of committing crimes against humanity with attacks on civilians, and photos emerged of the extremists' bloody takeover of a Syrian military air base. In one photo posted online, masked gunmen were seen shooting seven men kneeling on the ground, some dressed in what appeared to be Syrian military uniforms, after the seizure of the Tabqa air base in the northeastern Syrian province of Raqqa earlier this week. http://apne.ws/1nFrCnh http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

BOMBSHELL: CDC Email Reveals Vaccine Cover Up

New details have emerged in our ongoing investigation into the claims of Dr. William Thompson the CDC Whistleblower who claims CDC has been covering up a link between vaccines and autism, since as far back as 2002. The details have come to light in an email given to Mike Adams at Natural News.com. The Bombshell email, from Doctor Thompson to officials of the CDC, discussed the documents should be turned over to the Justice Department. That agency was investigating possible links between vaccines and a recent rise in reported cases of autism. This newly-uncovered document suggests the CDC may have tried to hide evidence. In the email dated October 18, 2002, Thompson wrote “I have also tried to bring your attention to some potentially sensitive legal issues surrounding what documents we should provide for this study.” This email suggests that the CDC knew of a link between the neurological disorder and MMR vaccines. Thompson's revelations showed the risk of autism rose 340 percent a...

Detroit Resumes Shutting Off Water Service

Bankrupt Detroit resumed shutting off water to people who have not paid bills after a month long suspension that followed international and local criticism that the practice was unduly harsh to residents of one of the nation's poorest cities. The city said it was scheduled to deny service to 420 customers Tuesday, although it was not immediately clear how many had actually been shut off. Detroit filed the nation's largest-ever municipal bankruptcy last year and has struggled to manage basic services. The city said nearly 45 percent of the city's 173,000 residential water accounts are considered past due and some 25,000 customers have reached payment plans with the city. http://yhoo.it/1zFVYvG http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Islamic State Expands: Up To 100,000 People Have Joined, Experts Say

According to Iraqi security sources, the Islamic State, the radical group which has cut a bloody path through Syria and Iraq in recent months, slaying civilians and security forces, and executing the American journalist James Foley on camera, has even more followers than previously believed. While western diplomats and other observers have estimated the number of militants number between 20,000 to 50,000, Hisham al-Hashimi, a security expert in Baghdad, said that the total membership of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria may now be closer to 100,000 members. If true, the numbers suggest that the militant organization is growing by leaps and bounds as it conquers territory in the region. http://on.mash.to/1q5Gu38 http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Mother to ISIS: "Please Release my Son!"

The mother of a journalist held hostage by the Islamic State appealed to the leader of the militant group Wednesday, asking for her son's release. In a video broadcast on Al Arabiya Network, Shirley Sotloff pleads with Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to grant amnesty for her son, Steven Sotloff. "Steven is a journalist who traveled to the Middle East to cover the suffering of Muslims at the hands of tyrants. Steven is a loyal and generous son, brother and grandson," Shirley Sotloff says. "He is an honorable man and has always tried to help the weak." Sotloff appeared in a video last week that showed the beheading of freelance photographer James Foley as a revenge killing for U.S. military action in Iraq. In the video, the Islamic State says Sotloff faces the same fate if military action doesn't end. In Wednesday's video, Shirley Sotloff calls on al-Baghdadi to follow Islamic teachings. "Since Steven's capture, I've learned a lot a...

WHO Calls 'Emergency Meeting', Setting the Stage to Ok 'Experimental' Ebola Drugs!

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza NEW YORK – The World Health Organization will host a closed-door conference in Geneva with some 100 health-care experts from around the world to explore the alternative medical treatments and experimental drugs available to combat Ebola. The WHO hopes the conference, Sept. 4-5, will lead to the approval of one or more treatments to combat the current Ebola outbreak in Africa. WHO spokeswoman Fadela Chaib in Geneva explained to WND in an exclusive telephone interview that while journalists will be excluded from the meeting, the WHO will conduct a media advisory at the conclusion to allow journalists to ask questions. The WHO decision to explore experimental Ebola drugs and treatments appears to have been prompted in part by a widely reported offer made Monday by the Japanese company Toyama Chemical, a pharmaceutical subsidiary of the photo giant Fujifilm. The Japanese company will deliver to the WHO at no cost a quantity of the experimental drug Favipiravir, origi...
