Ebola Patient's Texas Family Frets About Hugs, Kisses

The stepdaughter of Texas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan says she's worried about the kisses and hugs her children gave him over the weekend — even though he wasn't secreting any bodily fluids and had the strength to walk to the ambulance under his own steam. Youngor Jallah spoke with NBC News by phone from the Dallas apartment where she, her husband and four young children are voluntarily quarantined — taking their temperature twice daily and looking for possible symptoms of the deadly virus. Her 11-year-old son, Joe-Joe, said "I'm a little scared." http://nbcnews.to/1r4QpSg http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News

Greta takes on President Obama attacking Fox News: It's Not Leadership, It's Childish

Fox News 'On The Record' Greta Van Susteren 10/2/2014. Greta: Obama ‘Petty’ and ‘Childish’ for Mocking Fox News Greta Van Susteren, ever the guard dog for Fox News, didn’t see the humor in President Barack Obama mocking her employer during his economy speech in Illinois Thursday. Obama had joked during his speech that Fox News covers his health care law as if it’s a “fanged threat to freedom.” “There is a lot of VERY SERIOUS stuff going on in the world,” Van Susteren instantly wrote on her personal blog. “That’s what the President should be talking about. … He should be setting a good example to college students – he should be Presidential, not petty.” Van Susteren said Obama diminished himself by “picking a fight with Fox News with his wise cracks.” “That is so childish,” she wrote, before acknowledging that it was at least free publicity for Fox. #News

RICHARD BESSER via Good Morning America MONROVIA, Liberia -- Amid the deadliest Ebola outbreak in history, it's easier to get help if you are dead than if you are alive. My producer and I were driving back from an assignment in Monrovia, where we filmed this morning's "Good Morning America" segment, when we saw a burial team working along the roadway surrounded by crowds of angry locals. A community leader said they had been trying to get help for the dead man for days, but no ambulance ever came. When the man died,...

Americans shocked their govt owns patent on Ebola

For IN the NOW with Anissa Naouai, The Resident hit the streets of New York City to ask people whether or not they were scared that a known case of Ebola has just been found in Texas. She challenges people on their knowledge of the virus, only to find out that not many Americans know their government has the patent on Ebola, or that it has been sitting on several promising vaccines because no company or government wants to pay for the final stages of FDA approval , remaining clinical trials, and manufacturing of the vaccine. Now that Ebola has reached the states, perhaps people will start paying more attention. West Antarctica's Meltdown Weakens Earths Gravity!

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza West Antarctica 's incredible weight loss can be felt from space, a new study reports. So much ice has disappeared from West Antarctica in recent years that Earth's gravity is now weaker there, researchers reported in the Aug. 28 issue of the journal Geophysical Research Letters . Earth's gravity fluctuates in small ways that are caused by changes in mass. When hefty ice sheets melt, there is less ice and thus less gravitational force pulling in that area. http://nbcnews.to/1sPRrZW #News Related articles Antarctica ice loss weakens gravity (news.com.au) Antarctica's ice loss is messing with Earth's gravity, scientists say (csmonitor.com) Ice Loss in Antarctica Is Messing Up Earth's Gravity (spd.rss.ac) Antarctic Ice Melt is Changing Earth's Gravity (blogs.discovermagazine.com) Antarctica's lost so much ice it's changed Earth's gravity (sciencealert.com.au) Antarctica Ice Melting Weakened Earth...

Philadelphia Becomes Largest US City to 'Decriminalize' Marijuana!

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Philadelphia has decriminalized small amounts of marijuana in the city, reducing penalties for possession and public use to minor fines and community service . The move makes Philadelphia the largest city in the United States to decriminalize pot. Mayor Michael Nutter signed the legislation on Wednesday, making the possession of 30 grams or less a civil offense . Though the law, which will go into effect on Oct. 20, does not legalize marijuana in the city. Those found in possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana will be cited and fined $25. Smoking pot in public can result in a citation and a $100 fine, or nine hours of community service, according to The Inquirer . Possessing more than 30 grams is still a criminal offense in the city, and anyone caught with marijuana who cannot show identification will still be arrested. Nutter also announced an outreach campaign to educate citizens on the new law. The mayor also pledged support for efforts to re-exami...

Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan Says 'Ebola Was Manufactured to Kill Blacks'

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation if Islam, is warning his acolytes that Ebola and AIDS were created by the US government to "depopulate" the world's black population. In a new missive, Farrakhan wrote that Henry Kissinger created a plan in 1974 to kill black people and now Ebola and AIDS are weapons being used to fulfill that policy. Farrakhan told followers that Kissinger said in 1974: "Depopulation should be the highest priority of foreign policy towards the Third World." Farrakhan went on to claim that "bio-weapons such as Ebola and AIDS" are "targeting weapons" that have been loosed by the "forces of Satan" to kill blacks both in the USA and abroad. Now, the 1974 study that Farrakhan cites was titled "Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for the United States Security and Overseas Interest." However, this study was not "written" by Henry Kissinger. He was merely the man ...

Oklahoma Beheader Was NOT FIRED, the Islamic Ritual Slaughter was "Premeditated"

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Jah’Keem Yisrael, Islamic State jihadist, was not fired. He was suspended. He was screaming Islamic verses as he beheaded Colleen Hufford. It was premeditated Islamic ritual slaughter — Jah’Keem went home, grabbed “a large bladed knife” and “returned to get revenge” — sharia-style. In the plant’s administrative office, police say, Nolen attacked 54-year-old Colleen Hufford from behind and severed her head from her body. The criminal complaint released today states that Nolen drove to his home “for the sole reason to retrieve a large bladed knife.” He then went back to work “with the large knife in his shoe, in order to assault an employee of the business with the knife.” He walked into the plant’s administrative office and came across 54-year-old Colleen Hufford, whom he attacked from behind, severing her head. He then turned his attention to Tracy Johnson, 43, whom he cut across the left side of the face and also tried to behead. She survived. http://bit.ly/1veJ...

Parliament voted 298-98 in favor of the motion which sets the legal framework for any Turkish military involvement in Iraq or Syria, and for the potential use of Turkish bases by foreign troops. Meanwhile, the militants pressed their offensive against a beleaguered Kurdish town along the Syria-Turkey border. Sea Ice Melt Forces A Record 35,000 Pacific Walruses Onto Alaskan Beach

In a vivid demonstration of the cascading consequences of manmade global warming, a record 35,000 Pacific walruses have hauled out of the Chukchi Sea onto a beach near Point Lay, Alaska. Walruses are an ice-dependent species, and with sea ice having retreated far offshore, the walruses have been forced to swim to land to be able to forage and rest, officials said. Walruses, each of which can weigh more than 4,000 pounds, depend on sea ice for hunting food in deeper ocean waters and resting in between those dives, and the retreat of sea ice cover in recent years has helped push them ashore in increasing numbers in the Russian Arctic and now the Alaskan Arctic as well, biologists and climate scientists said. http://on.mash.to/1xGKc7H http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News

US drone base to be built in Niger’s Agadez city in fight against Boko Haram and other militants

The United States plans to send more drones to a Saharan city in Niger that puts them closer to Islamist militants blamed for attacks in the region. After months of negotiations, Niger has authorised the U.S. to set up its second surveillance hub in Agadez, its second in the country. In response to increased terrorist activity from Boko Haram and other al Qaeda-linked groups, the U.S. and France are expanding their military presence in the region in response to increased Islamist terrorist activity. The allies set up joint surveillance drone hangars outside Niger’s capital Niamey in 2013, where 120 U.S. troops and 300 French troops were stationed. Nigerien officials told Reuters on Tuesday the U.S. has been given consent to set up a surveillance drone base in Agadez. It is unclear whether drones will continue to operate from Niamey. #News
