Taku Tanku The tiny house you can pull with a bicycle: Superlight home made from plastic water tanks

Taku Tanku The tiny house you can pull with a bicycle: Superlight home made from plastic water tanks If the current trend for tiny houses are still too large, a New York design firm has come up with an alternative - made from recycled water tanks. Called the Taku Tanku, it is large enough to fit a bed and a desk - yet light enough to be towed by a bicycle. The team say the basic home, which has no bathroom and plumbing, can be used as a shelter. 'Carried by one or two persons or by a bicycle, by a car or potentially even by a boat, TAKU-TANKU is made out of water tanks and can travel through many landscapes to serve as companion and shelter but also as a sculpture that celebrates the vital role of water in our lives.' Its interior can accommodate two to three people and has a compartment to store some luggage or belongings. It is also equipped with solar-powered LED lights.

My $500 Craigslist score bug out vehicle

For all your life on the road, boondocking and prepping needs buy your products at below wholesale prices with no shipping fees. http://bit.ly/1DB5c2p I've been buying gear from them for years and have always been pleased. Check out the prices on LED bulbs, you'll be amazed... *** I had a few doubters in the recent past and for those of you who wish to see proof of the $500 purchase price. I do have a few images of the Washington State registration on the old girl when I first bought her. On it, you will see the "Use Tax" which totals a whopping $44.50 and is how Washington taxes a buyer on a private party sale of a used vehicle. When I walked in to get licensed, I had the seller right there with a long list of things that need to be done to the RV in order to make her road worthy and livable. As such, the tax was not on the blue book value but on the reduced amount of the sale. Had the coach been drivable (It hadn't moved in 8 years) and in good working order (I...

How the Mortgage Crisis Forced Thousands of Americans to Live in Their Vans

Living in Our Vans (2008): Mortgage crisis forces thousands of Americans to live in their vans Since the beginning of the mortgage crisis one and a half million Americans have lost their homes. With banks repossessing their houses, many have been left no other option than to move into their cars. The streets of California are now filled with people who call their car their home. Jennifer Clement, explains, "The estimated value of our house went to 120,000 U.S. dollars within a month. After losing all the money, we literally landed on the street and were forced to live in our caravan". It is a vicious circle: Without a job - no home. Without an apartment - no job. Young Homeless Person Sleeping Next to a Busy Road (4K UHD)

I was walking and talking with a friend of mine who live in the Mission District, and we walked all the way into the Bayview, or Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. Thia neighborhood is notable for intense segregation. After WWII, blacks were evicted from all of the other SF neighborhoods, and moved here. It's also known for urban decay and toxic waste. There used to be steel works here, and there's a decommissioned ship yard. Until 1969, the Hunters Point shipyard was the site of the Naval Radiological Defense Laboratory. The NRDL decontaminated ships exposed to atomic weapons testing and also researched the effects of radiation on materials and living organisms This caused widespread radiological contamination and, in 1989, the base was declared a Superfund site requiring long-term clean-up. The Navy closed the shipyard and Naval base in 1994. The pollution of the waters around here is so bad, a section of the coastline is called toxic beach. Due to the history of the great ...

Heads Up! Obama Issues Executive Order On Hackers Amid Cyber Security 'National Emergency'

Make Sure to Subscribe to the New J.KNIGHT Channel: http://bit.ly/1EkkVQI An executive order signed by President Barack Obama gives the United States government the go-ahead to sanction suspected cyber-criminals with financial and travel restrictions amid a wave of high-profile hacks. Citing the surge of assaults against the computer networks of US entities in recent months, Pres. Obama said Wednesday that he has declared a “national emergency” and accordingly authorized the US Treasury Department to sanction suspected hackers operating abroad in an effort to discourage future cyber-assaults. On the heels of attacks suffered by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Target and a seemingly ever-expanding list of other victims as of late, this Obama administration newest effort is intended to amplify the government’s ability to go after hackers and deter future online assaults that may otherwise have crippling effects. Coupled with the Department of Justice’s recent promise to ramp-up its ability...

New video shows Saudi tanks being transferred to border areas with Yemen

Days after unleashing airstrikes against neighboring Yemen, Saudi Arabia is reportedly preparing for a ground incursion into the impoverish nation. Media reports suggest that Saudi forces have opened border fences with Yemen in Hujjah province. New footage shows Saudi tanks being transferred to border areas. Nearly 200 people have lost their lives in Yemen since Saudi-led airstrikes began last Thursday. At least 37 people were killed on Wednesday when a dairy factory was struck in the western port city of Hudaidah. Many of the casualties are civilians, among them women and children. Riyadh says Ansarullah fighters are the main target of its campaign while locals say the attacks are in fact hitting civilians and the country’s infrastructure.
