Broadcast Networks Don't Carry Israeli Prime Minister's Address to Congress

The major American broadcast networks declined to carry live Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint session of Congress boycotted by many leading Democrats Tuesday, and early reaction to the speech in Hollywood seemed to signal a growing disenchantment with the Obama administration foreign policy, particularly the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran. Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC and CNN, did broadcast the address, along with CSPAN. The major networks, along with multiple U.S. online news outlets, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, did live stream the speech on their websites. In Hollywood, where support for a Democratic president and the state of Israel are as close as you come to consensus issues, reaction to Netanyahu’s visit and address was split. http://yhoo.it/1FTs8If http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

U.S. to Respond to Venezuela's Demand to Cut U.S. Embassy Staff

The United States said on Tuesday it would respond through diplomatic channels to Venezuela's demand for a cut in U.S. embassy staff in Caracas, but said Venezuela had drastically underestimated its own diplomatic presence in the United States. Venezuela had on Monday ordered the U.S. embassy in Caracas to reduce staff from 100 to 17 amid the worst diplomatic flare-up between the two ideological foes since socialist President Nicolas Maduro was elected in 2013. Maduro said there were 17 staffers at his country's embassy in Washington. http://bit.ly/1AX7CGT http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ
