The video, which was shot on a cell phone, shows what appears to be a mushroom cloud emerging from the nuke and the resulting shockwave. The footage is consistent with a smaller tactical nuke designed for use on a battlefield in a military situation, as opposed to much larger strategic nukes used to level cities. The video was filmed by a man inside his house, and the shockwave from the nuke broke the window he was filming out of. It said the two Russian planes did not enter UK airspace, but the manoeuvres were "part of increasing pattern of out-of-area operations" by Russia. The US Senate has approved a controversial measure that would further toughen Washington’s sanctions against Iran. The Senate’s Banking Committee approved the so-called Kirk-Menendez bill with 18 votes in favor and 4 against. The supporters of the measure say the move is necessary to force Iran to reach a acceptable agreement in nuclear talks. The White House strongly opposes the measure, which could mar the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and the P-five-plus-one. On Tuesday, US senators agreed to delay a full Senate vote until at least March 24 to allow international negotiators to reach a political framework agreement. But the Banking Committee finalized the bill's text Thursday, to revive the threat of new sanctions. If Congress passes the final Kirk-Menendez bill, President Obama is expected to veto it.
