Netanyahu rejected meeting with US Senate Democrats during his upcoming visit to Washington

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a proposed meeting with US Senate Democrats during his upcoming visit to Washington. Netanyahu says he has decided not to meet the Democrats over concerns that it could fuel QUOTE mis-perception of partisanship over his planned address to Congress. This appears to be a response to remarks by U-S National Security Advisor Susan Rice that the Israeli prime minister’s uninvited visit ahead of Israeli elections is a partisan move. Rice had also warned that Netanyahu’s speech would be, QUOTE, destructive to the fabric of the Israeli-American relationship. The Israeli prime minister is expected to use his speech scheduled to be delivered in March to attack the ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and the United States. He was invited to Washington last month by House Speaker John Boehner. But the White House quickly reacted to the invitation, saying it would not welcome Netanyahu because Boehner has dodged the international protocols for ...

Arizona Outage: Banks Shut Down After CenturyLink Fiber Failure Kills Internet, Phones

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza PRESCOTT - A failure in a fiber line owned by CenturyLink just before noon Wednesday, Feb. 25, cut telephone and Internet service for customers across northern Arizona. Alex Juarez, a spokesman for CenturyLink, said the company dispatched technicians to find a break was somewhere near the Interstate 17 corridor, north of Deer Valley, but possibly as far north as the Camp Verde area. Juarez said the outage extended across the north-central part of the state, from the Prescott area, to Cottonwood and Flagstaff. Just before 3 p.m., he said crews had located the problem. However, he said at that time he was unable to give an estimated time for repairs. Yavapai County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said 911 calls in Yavapai County may not be answered on the first try. He asked callers to keep trying if they can't get through. http://bit.ly/1BxejBI

Game Changer: US Backs Russian UN Resolution Targeting ISIS

Make Sure to Subscribe to the New J.KNIGHT Channel: http://bit.ly/1EkkVQI According to Bloomberg’s, on Feb 10 the UN Security Council adopted a binding Russian resolution threatening economic and diplomatic sanctions against countries and individuals that help ISIS and other terrorist groups profit from trading oil, antiquities or hostages. As the US vetoes most Russian Security Council resolutions, this was an historic event. The resolution requires governments to ensure that they aren’t engaged in direct or indirect trade with ISIS and al-Qaeda-affiliated groups such as the al-Nusra Front in Syria. According to Bloomberg’s, the resolution will significantly impact Turkey and Syria, which allow the purchase of oil from the militant group. Facts the article omits are probably more significant than the omissions. First Bloomberg’s neglects to mention that the US initially opposed the resolution and spent three days frantically trying to counter and/or change the draft language. Presuma...

Apple Patents iPhone Tracking System

Your next iPhone may be trackable even when it's turned off, if Apple’s newest patent is anything to go by. The Cupertino tech giant has just patented a technology that would “periodically exit an unpowered state and transmit location data.” The patent documentation details a “wireless data processing device” that would include “a timer to periodically power up the wireless device or portion thereof in response to reaching a predetermined time” and “a location services module determining a current location of the wireless data processing device using one or more specified location determination techniques.” What this means in practice is that the device would “fake” being turned off if it receives the wrong security code a certain number of times, and would periodically transmit location data. While this should help track down stolen devices, the patent raises privacy concerns. A recent experiment by researchers at Stanford University and an Israeli defense contractor revealed tha...

Alarming! Pakistanis Face Deadline to Surrender Fingerprints or Give Up Cellphone

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Cellphones didn’t just arrive in Pakistan. But someone could be fooled into thinking otherwise, considering the tens of millions of Pakistanis pouring into mobile phone stores these days. In one of the world’s largest — and fastest — efforts to collect biometric information, Pakistan has ordered cellphone users to verify their identities through fingerprints for a national database being compiled to curb terrorism. If they don’t, their service will be shut off, an unthinkable option for many after a dozen years of explosive growth in cellphone usage here. http://wapo.st/1LEL8xX

Al-Shabaab Threatens U.S. Attacks: Should You Be Worried?

Al-Shabaab, the al Qaeda-linked militant group in Somalia, has sympathizers in the United States, but likely does not have the ability to strike targets in the West, despite its recent threat to do so. A small number of Western citizens, including Americans, joined the ranks of al-Shabaab. Shirwa Ahmed, the United States’ first suicide bomber in the modern era, came from the Somali-American community in Minnesota. In a video posted online on February 21, al-Shabaab called for attacks on shopping malls in Canada, Britain, and the United States. The video lists the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, as a target. Minnesota is home to the United States’ largest Somali community. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson has called on visitors to the Minnesota mall to be “particularly careful.” http://bit.ly/1weWK1x http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Urgent: FCC Votes Tomorrow to Regulate the Internet!

The FCC will vote Thursday (02/26/2015) morning to reclassify the Internet as a public utility. While this drastic change is being sold to the public as a solution to ensure net neutrality, the end game is total control. The internet is seen by many as the last bastion of freedom. ‘Library Girl’ Kendra Sunderland: Sex show earns teen potential jail time and $6,000 fine

Kendra Sunderland, the young lady known to fans as ‘Library Girl’ has been charged with public indecency and is looking at a year of jail time plus a US$6,000 fine for “exposing her privates with the intent of arousing sexual desire.” In January we told you about Kendra’s live web show at the Oregon State University library where she started out by polishing her bazookas, then graduated to teasing her tuna taco, before finally really stirring the honey pot with full fingered spelunking. The blonde babe who left school after becoming Internet famous has been busy, posing for Playboy, launching a website and posting racy pics on Twitter. We doubt she’ll do jail time and with the dough rolling in, that six grand fine shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Kendra doesn’t seem too worried; a recent Twitter post asked her followers which sports car she should buy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Welcome to TomoNews, where we an...
