Local officials said in a statement a patient in Frisco, Texas, walked into an urgent care facility on Wednesday exhibiting some signs and symptoms of Ebola and told health-care workers he had had contact with "patient zero" in Dallas, referring to Thomas Eric Duncan, who died Wednesday of the virus. A Dallas official told Mashable the man is not one of the 48 individuals currently part of the Ebola contact tracing. Frisco Fire Chief Mark Piland said in a briefing on Wednesday that the man had spent some time inside Duncan's apartment and had come into contact with members of his family while there. Texas officials have said that a Dallas Ebola victim will be cremated, following his death on Wednesday. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, they will be following detailed instructions from the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) on the handling of the remains of Thomas Eric Duncan. The detailed guidelines recommend including enclosing the body in two bags and disinfecting the bags, after which the body can be transported without the need for protective gear. This is the second time in a week that ISIS militants have taken down an Iraqi helicopter, according to The New York Times, suggesting the radical group possesses and are able to operate ground-to-air missiles — a worrying prospect for the United States military which is conducting its own air strikes in support of Iraqi and Kurdish ground forces. While American fighter jets generally fly at altitudes too high to be hit by shoulder-mounted missiles, The New York Times reported that, on Sunday, the U.S. military began using Apache helicopters to conduct airstrikes in Anbar province in western Iraq. On Tuesday, U.S. airstrikes repelled ISIS militants which for weeks had advanced on the Kurdish town of Kobane, located in Syria near the Turkish border. Extremists with the Islamic State shot down an Iraqi helicopter on Wednesday outside Baiji, home to Iraq's largest oil refinery. US health officials are trying to control the spread of enterovirus D68, also known as EV-D68, after it sickened hundreds of children across the American midwest. According to CNN, ten states have sought help from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in dealing with the enterovirus D68 outbreak. Missouri and Illinois have been hit hardest by the respiratory illness. Enteroviruses, which have around 100 types, are common. Active season starts in September, infecting an average of 10 to 15 million Americans each year. However, only 100 cases of EV-D68 had been recorded since the 1960s. Many of the infected have been hospitalized, putting a strain on the medical system. Children and teens are most susceptible to the virus. The initial symptoms, which including sneezing and coughing, are no different from those of a common cold. Some of the infected may experience wheezing and develop rashes and a fever. A U.S. federal air marshal was attacked with a syringe containing an unknown substance at an airport in Nigeria on Sunday. The attack took place as a group of U.S. federal agents travelling incognito were approached by a group of men at Lagos’ Muritala Mohammed International Airport, according to KPRC. One of the men stuck a syringe, which contained an unknown substance into the arm of an agent and then fled the scene. The agent pulled the syringe out of his body and stored it in a safe container, KPRC reported. The agent then boarded his flight, landing at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. He has since been taken to a hospital for several tests for diseases including Ebola and HIV, according to KPRC. #News

The shooting happened about 6 p.m., reports CBS Chicago. The captain is being treated for gunshot injuries to the head and chest, says a spokeswoman for Stroger Hospital, but multiple sources are telling CBS Chicago that the injuries are not life-threatening. The officer is said to be in good condition. The injuries are believed to be graze wounds, and it's likely the gunshot to the chest was absorbed by the captain's protective vest. Mayor Rahm Emanuel was seen at the hospital where the officer is being treated. Canadian MPs have voted to authorize airstrikes against the ISIL terrorists operating in Iraq following a U-S request. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservative Party introduced the motion last week. The party has a majority of seats in Parliament. The motion passed 157-134 on Tuesday. The motion authorizes airstrikes in Iraq for up to six months and explicitly states that no ground troops be used in combat operations. About 600 airmen and airwomen will be involved in the action.
