Activists protesting police violence against black people chained themselves to 1,200-pound barrels on Thursday and blocked a busy Boston highway during the morning rush. At least 29 people were arrested, and Massachusetts State Police accused the protesters of endangering public safety by forcing ambulances to change routes. Katie Seitz, one of the activists, said in a statement released by the organization Black Lives Matter Boston that the aim of the demonstration was to show that white commuters and students use the city and leave while people of color are targeted by police, exploited and displaced. Hezbollah’s Secretary General has threatened to respond Israel’s repeated strikes on Syria. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remark in an interview with Beirut-based al-Mayadeen news channel. The Lebanese resistance leader said his movement is well-armed and its Iranian-made missiles can hit anywhere in Israel. He said the Israeli strikes target not just Syria but the axis of resistance in the entire region. Since the conflict began in Syria four years ago, the Israeli air force has targeted several Syrian positions. The most recent such strike hit arms warehouses near the capital Damascus in December.
