The concentration of carbon dioxide — the most important long-lived global warming pollutant — in 2013 rose by the largest amount in 30 years, according to a new U.N. report. Yet another report of a violent attack out of the University of Florida in Gainesville. Police say a man lunged out of nowhere and tackled a woman while she was just walking on campus. The victim told investigators she kicked her assailant before he fled the scene. University officials are concerned about this new rise in random violence. Local 15 News has learned of a huge security breach to hospitals across the nation and that includes hospitals in Alabama and Florida. Hackers gained access to the records of 4.5 million patients who were treated at any of the Community Health Systems 206 hospitals. Hackers now have access to their names, Social Security numbers, physical addresses, birthdays and telephone numbers. The company's hospitals operate in 28 states but have their most significant presence in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas. The hospital network said that just before Monday's announcement, it managed to wipe the hackers' malware from its computer systems and implemented protections to prevent similar break-ins. The company plans to offer identity theft protection to the 4.5 million victims of the data breach. #News

According to a report released Monday, the ruthless militant group known as the Islamic State is in possession of American rifles, Chinese machine guns, and Yugoslavian anti-tank rockets — all of which were delivered to Syrian rebels. The researchers have been able to identify 10 different types of weapons coming from manufacturers from all over the world.
