Lately in Texarkana, Arkansas a strange appearance of a Martial Law style drill took place. In the town of about 30,000 people and home of the coined phrase “twice as nice”, an odd sight could be seen on February 28th, 2015. The sight was 38 US Army soldiers fully dressed in combat gear with training rifles crossing the road, doing a “search and rescue type” drill, or training to do traffic stops on a common highway. The other option is that the US army personnel could have been training as if they were dropped into the nearby airfield and are preparing to lock down the airfield. A group of Republican senators may find themselves facing treason charges over the controversial letter they have addressed to Iran. A petition against the senators on the White House website has reportedly received over one hundred-fifty thousand signatures in a single day. The US media says this is enough to mandate an official response from President Barack Obama. The petition calls for criminal charges against 47 senators who warned that any nuclear deal between Tehran and Washington would be short-lived. A Syrian businessman facing European Union sanctions denied on Tuesday allegations that he bought oil from the Islamic State group for President Bashar Assad's government. The EU put sanctions last week on George Haswani and six other prominent Syrian businessmen, freezing their assets and banning them from traveling to Europe. It also froze the assets of six companies also viewed as sponsors of the Syrian government. Speaking to The Associated Press in his Damascus office, Haswani said the EU sanctions and accusations are politically motivated and said he is preparing to take unspecified legal action against the EU. Rebecca Watts, known as Becky, went missing two weeks ago from her home in Bristol, England. The 16-year-old seemingly vanished into thin air and her family has been frantically searching for her ever since. A few days ago police received a tip that lead to Becky’s body and also indicated to officers that the teenager’s body had been cut up and dissected. Avon and Somerset police have since arrested Becky’s 28 year old stepbrother Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend, and charged the two with Becky’s murder.
