SNIFFPHONE: Breakthrough 'Cancer Diagnosis' from Single Breath with 90% Accuracy

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza “Current cancer diagnosis techniques are ineffective and impractical,” said star academic and project leader Hossam Haick of Haifa’s Technion Institute in an interview with the Times of Israel. “This technology could facilitate faster therapeutic intervention, replacing expensive and time-consuming clinical follow-up that would eventually lead to the same intervention.” According to the World Health Organization, 1.5 million people die from lung cancer around the world each year, and the hard-to-diagnose illness is often detected at an inoperable state, once it has spread to other internal organs and systems. “Currently, the patient arrives for diagnosis when the symptoms of the sickness have already begun to appear,” said 38-year-old Haick, when comparing his system to traditional techniques. “Months pass before a real analysis in completed. And the process requires complicated and expensive equipment such as CT and mammography imaging devices. Each machine cost...

Fukushima breaking news; MISSION impossible POSSIBLE, AML LEUKEMIA

PLUTONIUM WARS CHAPTER 4 by kevin D. blanch 2/5/15 http://econ.st/18Swe98 http://bit.ly/1yOqGT8 THE stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant is the world’s most complex and costly industrial clean-up. The first three of Fukushima Dai-ichi’s six reactors melted down in March 2011 and the fourth was damaged. TEPCO’s early guess was that decommissioning would take 30-40 years. That is certainly optimistic. Society is like a stew. If you don't stir it up every once in a while then a layer of scum floats to the top. According to the report, the Xian Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has successfully developed a third-generation X-ray pulsar simulation source. The technology, which can create an X-ray pulsar source in X-ray tubes to generate arbitrary waveform pulses, officially passed evaluation tests on Jan. 17. The evaluation committee found that the creation's performance indicators were at an advanced international level and concluded that it is an advanced technology with original and practical applications that could lead to important economic and social benefits. An X-ray pulsar consists of a magnetized neutron star in orbit with a normal stellar companion and is a type of bin...

Ukraine Passes Law Allowing Army Deserters to be Shot

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Ukraine’s parliament has passed a law which authorizes commanding officers to use physical force against army defectors. It comes as the latest military draft has seen a lack of enthusiasm on the part of potential soldiers. Ukraine’s parliament voted on Thursday with 260 MPs in favor - only 226 votes were needed to pass the law. The new article 22(1) added to the charter regulating service in the armed forces of Ukraine states that commanders “have the right to personally use physical force, special means, and weapons when in combat” against soldiers who commit “criminal acts.” Under criminal acts the law lists “disobedience, resistance or threat to use force against the commander, voluntary abandonment of military positions and certain locations of military units in areas of combat missions.” An explanatory note to the document says that currently there are mass violations of military discipline, in particular, desertion from units and drinking alcohol, as well ...

Brian Williams Misremembers a Lifetime of Historic Events

NBC News anchor Brian Williams may misremember how his brush with death in Iraq truly went down , but the Internet will never let him forget. For years Williams had told the story of how a soldier rescued him after his helicopter was downed by RPG fire during the Iraq War in 2003. Turns out, it was all a lie. Williams finally came clean during Wednesday's broadcast after several soldiers called him out on social media. Williams said, "I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago." http://on.mash.to/1AxaXNT http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Ex-New York Assemblyman Convicted of Federal Bribery Charges

Former Democratic New York state Senator Malcolm Smith was found guilty on federal bribery charges on Thursday, authorities said, the latest conviction in a string of public corruption prosecutions that have roiled the state capital Albany. The office of Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara accused Smith, 57, of trying to bribe Republican officials to secure a spot on the 2013 mayoral ballot in the race eventually won by Democrat Bill de Blasio. Smith's first trial on bribery charges ended in a mistrial last year. Smith's co-defendant, former Queens Republican leader Vincent Tabone, 41, was also found guilty of bribery charges on Thursday by the same jury in federal court in White Plains, New York, a spokeswoman for Bharara said. http://yhoo.it/1Kkhs8I http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ
