We’ve been tracking this midterm election all year long, especially the important race for control of the Senate. It’s been a huge story, all year long. Every negative report knocking President Obama for failed foreign policy, immigration, or Obamacare means another chance for other parties to gain momentum against the Democrats. Obama’s declining popularity has been the main catalyst driving Democrats opposition. Republican supporters have been counting on this election as their chance to retake control of the Senate. If they can win at least 6 states, they will take the majority in both chambers of Congress. But, if they’re only able to capture 5 seats in the Senate, it will come down to a 50/50 split. Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson avoided jail time on Tuesday in a plea agreement reached with prosecutors to resolve his child abuse case. The All-Pro running back says he never intended to harm his son and was disciplining him in the same way he had been as a child growing up in East Texas. The boy suffered cuts, marks and bruising to his thighs, back and on one of his testicles, according to court records. The White House said on Friday it regretted Russia's decision not to attend preparatory meeting last week for the 2016 nuclear security summit. White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters in a briefing that Russia declined to participate in the meeting but that he was not aware that Moscow planned to boycott the summit itself. The fourth nuclear security summit is scheduled to be held in Chicago in 2016, returning to the United States, where the process was launched by President Barack Obama in 2010.
