How surveillance cameras will soon be reading lips

Ahmad Hassanat, a scientist at a University in Jordan, has created an automated lip-reading system with a success rate of 76%. Though he admits there are many hurdles to making the technology perfect, in our surveillance-obsessed society, it's only a matter of time - especially when you consider the CIA is already seeking out lip-reading services. Canada to 'Revoke Passports' of Citizens Who Leave to Fight Along ISIS

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza As hysteria over the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) goes global, the Canadian government has announced it will invalidate the travel documents of any citizen who travels overseas with the intention of joining an extremist group. Under the long-established Canadian Passport Order, which gives officials the right to terminate citizens’ travel papers, Ottawa has begun revoking the passports of individuals who fly to overseas destinations such as Iraq and Syria to fight alongside IS and other terrorist groups. http://bit.ly/1qYLMz8 #News

ISIS Calling Kerry "The Uncircumcised Old Geezer" and Obama "The Mule of the Jews"

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Here is the English translation to the latest speech by al-Adnani. They call John Kerry “the old uncircumcised geezer” and Obama “the mule of the Jews” and take on his lecturing on Islam: So America and its allies rose in order to save the world from the “terrorism and barbarity of the Islamic State” as they allege. They rallied the entire global media, driving it with false arguments to delude the masses and lead them to believe that the Islamic State was the root of evil and the source of corruption, and that it was the one killing and displacing the people, arresting and murdering those who are “peaceful,” demolishing houses, destroying cities, and terrorizing the women and children who were previously safe. The media portrayed the crusaders as good, merciful, noble, generous, honorable and passionate people who feared for Islam and the Muslims the “corruption and cruelty of the khawārij (a deviant, extremist sect) of the Islamic State” as they allege. Loan-qualifying aquaponics greenhouse kit for income, family

After working for years in Afghanistan, Jim Frasche began developing an aquaponics greenhouse in Colorado for communities in both Denver and Kabul (similar high altitude, cold climate regions) where local food wasn't always readily accessible. He sells his 500-square-foot aquaponics greenhouse for $25,000 (via Turnkey Aquaponics), but this is an income-producing garden. "Based on allocating a certain square footage of productivity to growing cash crops which you would sell to restaurants or food wholesalers you can cash flow a structure like this in about 2 years while still feeding a family of four." The price may be steep, but Frasche explains the idea is to qualify for a loan based on the payback period of the greenhouse. 60,000 Syrian Kurds Flee to Turkey Within 24 hours Amid ISIS Advance!

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Some 60,000 Syrian Kurds have crossed into Turkey in the past 24 hours, fleeing Islamic State (IS) militants who are advancing on dozens of villages close to the border. Turkey opened a stretch of the border on Friday after Kurds fled their homes, fearing an attack on the border town of Ayn al-Arab, a Kurdish commander on the ground said. Local Kurds also said they fear a massacre in Kobani, whose strategic location has been blocking the militants from gaining more power in northern Syria. "Kobani is facing the fiercest and most barbaric attack in its history," Mohammed Saleh Muslim, the head of Syria's powerful Kurdish Democratic Union, told AP. http://bit.ly/1tPvFnc #News

Exposed! US Navy's 'NCIS' Caught Spying On the Entire State of Washington!

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza A child pornography case in Washington has shockingly escalated as an appeals court determined the U.S. Navy has been engaged in a “routine” and “widespread” program of “hacking” into private citizens’ computers and turning over information to law enforcement agencies. In a decision filed Sept. 12, a three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals called the revelations such a “massive” and “extraordinary” violation of the law it threw out evidence the Navy had collected against Michael Allan Dreyer of Algona, Washington, who had been sentenced in 2012 to 18 years in prison for distribution of child pornography. According to court documents, a Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, agent in Georgia named Steve Logan trolled for traces of child pornography on computers across Washington State. When Logan discovered offending content on Dreyer’s computer, the agent turned the information over to the police. The judges ruled Logan’s action a viola...

Some California Wells Run Dry Amid Drought

Hundreds of domestic wells in California's drought-parched Central Valley farming region have run dry, leaving many residents to rely on donated bottles of drinking water to get by. Girl Scouts have set up collection points while local charities are searching for money to install tanks next to homes. Officials truck in water for families in greatest need and put a large tank in front of the local firehouse for residents to fill up with water for bathing and flushing toilets. About 290 families in East Porterville — a poor, largely Hispanic town of about 7,000 residents nestled against the Sierra Nevada foothills — have said their shallow wells are depleted. http://apne.ws/1utXoIa http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News

California Wildfire Destroys 10 Houses, 22 Other Structures

Ten houses and 22 outbuildings have been destroyed in a wildfire that swept through parts of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California over the past week and continues to burn, a fire official said on Sunday. No residents of the homes were hurt, said Tom Piranio, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Firefighters were only recently able to enter the burned areas to tally the structural damage caused by the King Fire, he added. About 12,000 homes have been evacuated since the blaze began on Sept. 13, Piranio said. http://yhoo.it/1utXq2A http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News

James Carville: 13 Years From Now, We’re Still Gonna Be Bombing Muslims

Democratic strategist James Carville questioned the wisdom of continued military operations in the Middle East, telling a This Week panel Sunday morning that all the U.S. efforts in Iraq seemed to do was require further U.S. military efforts down the road. “Thirteen years ago this October we started bombing Muslims in the Middle East,” Carville said. “We’re still bombing them. Does any sane person think that thirteen years from now we’re not going to still be bombing them? Of course we are. …Maybe there’s no alternative other than bombing people. But we’re getting the middle of four, count ‘em, four civil wars here.” RELATED: Stephanopoulos to Amb. Power: Has Obama ‘Trapped Himself’ on ISIS? Carville then castigated Congress for being “brave enough” to send air fighters to Iraq but not brave enough to pass a war resolution. $900 for dandelions - sell your weeds!

http://bit.ly/LmkaRj Michael "Skeeter" Pilarski, famous permaculture instructor and wildcrafter, talks about the street value of dandelions and polyculture. He calls this 0.85 acre plot "edible acres" or "Okanagan Biodiversity Farm". He grows about a hundred different crops on this plot as a market garden including raspberries, elecampane, and ... weeds like dandelions! So he let the dandelions go all season, and then he harvests them in the fall and sells them! During the growing season, the dandelions feed the surrounding plants. Skeeter explains that plants like dandelions are solar collectors and pump half of their collected energy into the soil to feed the web of life which then fertilizes other plants. Weeds also help to keep the soil from getting compacted. Taprooted weeds (dandelions have a wonderful tap root) can also bring nutrients up from deep soils. Skeeter did pull a few weeds to get rid of: wild lettuce, wild verbena, wild grasses and wild ...
