ATF and EPA Quietly Working On Gun Control with Ammunition BANs

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza About a year and a half ago, we wrote a story about the closing of the Doe Run lead smelting facility, the last primary lead smelter in the U.S. and whether this was a “backdoor effort” to control guns. After all, no lead means no ammunition, which means your gun becomes about as lethal as a ball-peen hammer. Naturally, we were roundly attacked by leftists who said that was ridiculous, because most ammunition comes from secondary lead, and there’s still plenty of that around. Unless of course lead is banned. On a related theme, we wrote yesterday about how the FCC and FEC are preparing a noose to tighten around our First Amendment rights. http://bit.ly/1FkTWoC

Geraldo Rivera: Hip-Hop Is 'Very Destructive Culturally'

Geraldo Rivera, Celebrity Apprentice runner-up and the discoverer of Al Capone's empty secret vaults, made some controversial statements about hip-hop during a long conversation with HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps. Rivera said, "Hip-hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racism in the last 10 years." Rivera then took aim at Russell Simmons, the co-founder of Def Jam who has been less involved in hip-hop in recent years. Rivera said, "This whole ethos, and I love Russell Simmons – he's a dear friend of mine, I admire his business acumen – at some point though, those guys need to cop to the fact that by encouraging this distinctive culture that is removed from the mainstream they have encouraged people to be so different from the mainstream that they can't participate other than the racks in the garment center and those entry level jobs. I lament it; I really do. I think it's been very destructive culturally." http://rol.st/1Ld9VZJ ht...

Video Shows Bruce Jenner Crashed Into Both Cars

A MTA bus caught the entire Bruce Jenner car crash on video and sources tell TMZ it squarely shows Bruce struck both cars, and the Lexus driver NEVER made contact with the Prius. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... they are in possession of the video. Sources familiar with the bus in question -- which was directly behind the Hummer -- tell TMZ there are cameras mounted in the front, back and sides, and the videos show the entire accident. Bruce hit the Lexus, which propelled it into oncoming traffic and then struck the Hummer. http://bit.ly/1vEbM0C http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Watch John Oliver Rant About Corruption Behind Elected Judges

Judges might be "the wearers of America's only formal muumuus," but as John Oliver explained during Sunday night's episode of Last Week Tonight, these officials have much larger problems than questionable fashion sense. In the above clip, Oliver takes aim at the horrifying corruption – and some of the hilarity – that comes from the American system of electing judges. The host opens his segment by focusing on Alabama's Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, who recently ordered state judges to ignore the federal court's lifting of Alabama's same-sex marriage ban. Oliver quipped "Alabama: Boldly refusing to accept diversity and the inevitable since 1819." http://rol.st/1MNn2lZ http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Rob Knight: How our microbes make us who we are

Rob Knight is a pioneer in studying human microbes, the community of tiny single-cell organisms living inside our bodies that have a huge — and largely unexplored — role in our health. “The three pounds of microbes that you carry around with you might be more important than every single gene you carry around in your genome,” he says. Find out why.
