Facebook is Selling Your Browser History

Facebook will soon start tracking the browsing history of its users, and selling that data to advertisers. In addition, a list of all applications downloaded by those on the social media site will be available for sale. Facebook announced the changes on June 12th in their online newsroom. The article begins by saying the main concern of users about advertisements is that they are not relevant enough. "Starting soon in the US, we will also include information from some of the websites and apps you use. This is a type of interest-based advertising, and many companies already do this," the company wrote. If internet users have recently purchased auto insurance anywhere online, the system would target the computer with ads for car accessories. A person who bought a chicken coop in an online auction would soon see advertisements for feed and litter. This week, Microsoft announced an updated to their terms of service. They pledged not to sell private data. The company often remind...

Twenty-five years after the World Wide Web was created, the issue of surveillance has become the greatest controversy of its existence. With many concerned that governments and corporations can monitor people's every move, this programme meets hackers and scientists who are using technology to fight back, as well as the law enforcement officers who believe it's leading to opportunities for risk-free crimes. With contributors including World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange.

Handbuilt teardrop trailer: 60-square-feet DIY home on wheels

Kyle and Jeannie wanted to own their own home, but they weren't sure where they wanted to live and they didn't want to spend a lot. So they bought a used trailer ($600) and built themselves a 60-sq-ft house on top. Kyle and Jeannie chronicle the 7 months from when they began the project through their first few months living in their Homemade Spaceship in the wilderness near Moab, Utah. When Someone Gets Pulled over for Expired Tags in Police State USA 2015

My friend and coworker at The Daily Sheeple Lily Dane was terrified tonight after police pulled her over for expired tags and it turned into a bullying session that lasted for over an hour and that apparently required four cop cars and SIX POLICE, one of which called her a criminal simply because she "broke the law" (as if all laws are equal, expired tags are the same as killing babies), and even though she has no criminal history and had done nothing wrong at that point other than having expired tags (except, perhaps, maybe for speaking out and being politically active against the police state online as an alternative media journalist). This video is the story of what happened to her. I'm sharing it because we live in such an insane police state that something has to change. As our previous special report exposes, police are using pre-crime algorithms to assign color-coded threat scores to each and every one of us before an officer ever lays eyes on us based upon, among...

Moscow Demands Removal of US Nuclear Missiles from Europe

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Russia increased tension over NATO nuclear missiles Tuesday with a demand that the United States remove all non-strategic nuclear weapons from Europe. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich referred to comments by Jen Psaki, his counterpart at the U.S. State Department, that U.S. missiles are under constant U.S. control, as distorted. He added that deployment of U.S. missiles in European NATO countries is a violation of the 1968 Treaty on Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation. Lukashevich's remarks came after tensions, already ratcheted upward by Russia's contention that it could place nuclear weapons in Crimea, increased over the weekend with the suggestion by a Russian diplomat that the Danish Navy's inclusion of radar on one ship, to involve it in NATO's missile shield, could make Denmark a nuclear target. http://bit.ly/19kfIyc http://bit.ly/1bscA5h http://bit.ly/19kfIyd

HUGE! House Introduces Bill to Repeal the Patriot Act

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza The bipartisan Surveillance State Repeal Act, if passed, would repeal dragnet surveillance of Americans’ personal communications, overhaul the federal domestic surveillance program, and provide protections for whistleblowers. House lawmakers Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) are co-sponsoring bill H.R.1466, which was introduced on Tuesday and would repeal the 2001 Patriot Act, limit powers of the FISA Amendments Act, and prohibit retaliation against federal national security whistleblowers, according to The Hill. “The Patriot Act contains many provisions that violate the Fourth Amendment and have led to a dramatic expansion of our domestic surveillance state,” said Rep. Massie in a statement. "Our Founding Fathers fought and died to stop the kind of warrantless spying and searches that the Patriot Act and the FISA Amendments Act authorize. It is long past time to repeal the Patriot Act and reassert the constitutional rights of all Americans.” htt...

WTF! Wisconsin Police Begin Forcibly Taking DNA for ALL Misdemeanor Convictions

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Madison, Wisc. – Starting April 1st, felons will no longer be the only ones in the state of Wisconsin to have their DNA forcibly taken. The state is expanding its DNA collection regime to include ALL criminal misdemeanor convictions. The new law being implemented is expected to exponentially increase the number of samples being analyzed in Madison. The current number of DNA profiles created, from the felons’ samples, ranges from 10,000-12,000 per year. Of those cases, 550 positive hits were made on unsolved cases, according to Fox 6. The number of samples is expected to potentially increase to an estimated 60,000 samples being collected per year. Police make the case that perhaps thousands of unsolved crimes could be solved. http://bit.ly/19OCn7f
