Vanilla Ice Arrested for Home Burglary

Vanilla Ice has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft for allegedly stealing furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other stuff from a vacant home in Florida. Lantana Poolice tells TMZ it's all connected to Ice's TV show, "The Vanilla Ice Project." Ice was renovating a nearby home and allegedly thought it was a good idea to go to the abandoned place and take the items in question. Apparently, even though the house was empty, the rightful owner had a problem with someone jacking his belongings ... thus the burglary charge. The cops got a search warrant, Ice cooperated, and police recovered some of the items. http://bit.ly/1MySPXU http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Utah Suicides Linked to Air Pollution

Suicide may be linked to air pollution, according to new research that finds spikes in completed suicides in the days following peak pollution levels. The research took place in Utah, part of the United States' western "suicide belt." Suicide is the 10th-leading cause of death in the United States; in Utah, it is the eighth. Though the notion that suicide and air quality could be linked may not seem intuitive, similar studies in South Korea, Taiwan and Canada have also linked the two. http://bit.ly/1vHRfIC http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Russia Developed New Fuel to Power Mach 5 Hypersonic Missiles

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Russia’s Defense Ministry has developed a new hypersonic missile fuel, a senior defense official has announced. According to Russian state-media outlets, Army General Dmitry Bulgakov, the deputy minister of defense, told reporters on Tuesday that the ministry has developed special new fuel to enable missiles to fly at hypersonic speeds. Unlike the U.S. and China, both of whom focus their hypersonic development efforts on boost-glide vehicles, Russia and India are seeking to build hypersonic cruise missiles. The two countries already developed the BrahMos missile together. Considered the fastest cruise missile in the world, BrahMos has achieved speeds of Mach 3 (3,675 m/h). http://bit.ly/1AUGjgK

The potential exposure occurred "during complex endoscopic procedures that took place between October 2014 and January 2015." U.S. Producer Prices Post Record Drop on Tumbling Energy Costs

U.S. producer prices posted a record decline in January, weighed down by plunging energy costs, pointing to very benign inflation pressures in the near term. The Labor Department said on Wednesday its producer price index for final demand dropped 0.8 percent, the biggest drop since the revamped series started in November 2009, after falling 0.2 percent in December. It was the third straight month of decline in the PPI. In the 12 months through January, producer prices were unchanged, the weakest year-on-year reading since records started in November 2010, after rising 1.1 percent in December. Lower energy prices, against the backdrop of softer global demand and increased shale production in the United States, and a strengthening dollar are dampening domestic inflation prices. http://yhoo.it/17qExaQ http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Khamenei Vows Firm Iranian Nuclear Stand, Warns on Gas Exports

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed on Wednesday that his country would resist global sanctions imposed over its disputed nuclear program, saying that Iran might respond to international pressure by cutting back gas exports. "The enemy is using the lever of sanctions to the hilt and their goal is to stop our people's progress," Khamenei said in a public speech in Tehran carried by the official IRNA news agency. "I believe that if we allow them to dictate to us on the nuclear issue, they will still keep the sanctions in place because what they are against is the very foundation of our revolution." http://bit.ly/17qEwUt http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

India Clears $8 Billion Warships Project to Counter Chinese Navy

India's government has cleared a $8 billion plan to build the country's most advanced warships, defense sources said, just months after ordering new submarines to close the gap with the Chinese navy in the Indian Ocean. Since taking over last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signaled his resolve to build a strong military after years of neglect that military planners say has left India unable to fight a two-front war against China and Pakistan. India's navy has been rattled in recent months after Chinese submarines docked in Sri Lanka, just off its southern coast, underlining the growing reach of the Chinese navy after years of staying closer to its shores. http://bit.ly/1DqVzUq http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ

Kim is one of nine such cases under the Obama administration — twice as many as all previous presidents combined. The former State Department contractor was accused of discussing classified documents on North Korea with Fox News reporter James Rosen. Last year, he was sentenced to 13 months in prison. But Kim always maintained his innocence. During the year before he went to prison, he shared his story with The Intercept. Journalist Peter Maass of The Intercept details the prosecution of Kim in a new article out today, "Destroyed by the Espionage Act: Stephen Kim Spoke to a Reporter. Now He's in Jail. This is His Story." We speak to Maass about Kim's case and broadcast an excerpt of "The Surrender," a documentary that accompanies The Intercept's report. See an excerp...

Geraldo Rivera: Hip-Hop Is 'Very Destructive Culturally'

Geraldo Rivera, Celebrity Apprentice runner-up and the discoverer of Al Capone's empty secret vaults, made some controversial statements about hip-hop during a long conversation with HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps. Rivera said, "Hip-hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racism in the last 10 years." Rivera then took aim at Russell Simmons, the co-founder of Def Jam who has been less involved in hip-hop in recent years. Rivera said, "This whole ethos, and I love Russell Simmons – he's a dear friend of mine, I admire his business acumen – at some point though, those guys need to cop to the fact that by encouraging this distinctive culture that is removed from the mainstream they have encouraged people to be so different from the mainstream that they can't participate other than the racks in the garment center and those entry level jobs. I lament it; I really do. I think it's been very destructive culturally." http://rol.st/1Ld9VZJ ht...
