NASA Satellites Put California Drought Into Shocking Perspective

Newly released images created from NASA satellite data illustrate the staggering effect the California drought has had on groundwater supply in the state. The images show the amount of water lost over the past 12 years, with different colors indicating severity over time. According to NASA , the Sacramento River and San Joaquin River basins have been hit the hardest by the water loss, in part because of the increasing volume of groundwater being pumped out for farming. http://on.mash.to/1rHfwAW http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News

Joe Biden explains how Ebola is like ISIS. (CNN) -- Vice President Joe Biden argued that the Ebola virus is on par with ISIS in Iraq and Syria when it comes to global security threats. Speaking in Boston Thursday at the Harvard Institute of Politics, Biden warned that "threats as diverse as terrorism and pandemic disease" are crossing borders "at blinding speeds," and they demand a global response involving more players "than ever before." President Barack Obama took credit for an improving jobs picture on Friday, but blamed businesses for stingy pay policies that are preventing workers from having enough money to get by. A day after giving an economic speech at Northwestern University touting the success of his administration's economic policies, Obama reveled in a new report showing the U.S. jobless rate had fallen to a six-year low. But at a town hall-style meeting at a manufacturing plant in Indiana, the president said companies that have the strongest balance sheets in history were not sharing their wealth with the employees who helped fuel their success. http://bit.ly/1pO8jIy http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News

Video Purports To Show Islamic State Beheading

An Internet video released Friday purports to show an Islamic State group fighter beheading British hostage Alan Henning. The video mirrored other beheading videos shot by the Islamic State group, which now holds territory along the border of Syria and Iraq. The video ended with an Islamic State fighter threatening a man they identified as an American. A masked militant said, "Obama, you have started your aerial bombard of Shams (Syria), which keep on striking our people, so it is only right that we strike the next of your people." http://apne.ws/YYBra0 http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ #News
