Andrew Solomon: Depression, the secret we share

"The opposite of depression is not happiness, but vitality, and it was vitality that seemed to seep away from me in that moment." In a talk equal parts eloquent and devastating, writer Andrew Solomon takes you to the darkest corners of his mind during the years he battled depression. That led him to an eye-opening journey across the world to interview others with depression -- only to discover that, to his surprise, the more he talked, the more people wanted to tell their own stories. (Filmed at TEDxMet.) Japanese Volcanic Island Grows to 11 Times Its Original Size

http://bit.ly/1zfNXza Japanese island Nishinoshima has grown to 11 times its original size due to the volcanic eruption started in 2013. A recent observation has shown that the volcano goes on erupting ever since and a new increase of the island’s area is expected. The actual size of the island is 1.95 km from east to west and 1.8 km from north to south, its area is 2.46 square kilometers, but the scientists say there is still plenty of magma to erupt. http://bit.ly/1LT0nmR

FUKUSHIMA,And The End of Humanity.Michio Kaku

As the prestigious scientific journal Nature notes: Shortly after a massive tsunami struck the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant on 11 March, an unmanned monitoring station on the outskirts of Takasaki, Japan, logged a rise in radiation levels. Within 72 hours, scientists had analysed samples taken from the air and transmitted their analysis to Vienna, Austria — the headquarters of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), an international body set up to monitor nuclear weapons tests. It was just the start of a flood of data collected about the accident by the CTBTO's global network of 63 radiation monitoring stations. In the following weeks, the data were shared with governments around the world, but not with academics or the public. The attempted cover up of the severity of the Fukushima disaster is nothing new. Governments have been covering up nuclear meltdowns for 50 years, and the basic design for nuclear reactors was ...

WARNING: Graphic Content - The Children of Chernobyl

**I'm reposting this video after my previous YT account (HOLadd3) was terminated by the YouTube Censor Nazis without explanation.** This video garnered over 478,000 + hits on my previous account and am hoping to crank it to over a million on this new site. See the incredible work done by the International Children's Heart Foundation and its founder Dr. William Novick. This particular mission focused on a genetic birth defect in the hearts of babies born in close proximity to the Chernobyl nuclear reactor and were ravaged by the subsequent radioactivity from the accident in April, 1986. ***Pay particular attention toward the end of the video and the parents' reaction to Dr. Novick when he comes out after one surgery to repair their daughter's defect called "Chernobyl Heart."*** I claim no specific copyright to any content in this video and am not seeking any kind of financial gain...I'm simply moved to share this group's extraordinary story and pass th...
